Walt Disney World is located in central Florida. There are four parks that make up the Disney World property, including nearly 30 Disney resort hotels and villas, and over 135 restaurants! Each of the four not-to-be-missed parks has a unique theme and atmosphere, and the property also enjoys unique travel experiences like the Monorail, Water Taxis from some resorts and Downtown Disney.
Four Parks, One World
Disney World isn;t just ONE park – in fact, it’s FOUR! It’s made up of:
- Magic Kingdom – the traditional park with Main Street and Cinderella’s Castle.
- EPCOT – short for the “Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow”, EPCOT is full of science and learning and culture. Walt wanted to build a community of tomorrow that would never be completed, that could demonstrate and introduce new ideas and systems. It has two halves, one for rides and adventures, and one displaying the culture, food, and lifestyles of many different countries!
- Animal Kingdom – Not just a zoo, this is Disney’s home for Animals of all kind, from The Lion King, to Nemo, to It’s a Bug’s Life!
- Hollywood Studios – the place for all things movie related!
